I am beginning to think along that vein. But my husband is totally opposed to saying or doing anything against his family even though they are overstepping. Uugghh.
BTW ... I absolutely adore pit bulls!!! They are some of the smartest dogs I have ever met.

The last part has gotten worse since we moved to the family homestead which is owned by both kids and both step kids... my fil is still living and is now 91. It has been agreed for many years that when dad dies we will step up and buy the home immediately even if it means selling our apartment house. We can not buy while he is alive as he does not like the step daughter and refuses to see her get a penny. Thus the agreement by all parties to wait til he is gone and then it gets split equally.
Perhaps the fact that they own a part explains their sudden attitude of absolute empowerment. We have even had an arguement with them over this a couple of years ago of course it changed nothing. Mike feels he is an elder and thus does not have to honor such small requests but this past week end is the worst ever.
Yesterday my husband and I put on a b b q for some of the clients at his agency who had nothing to look forward to for the whole week end. While we were all sitting and eating Mike and Lori come storming in and announce that they heard from dad that we were not going to be home at all that afternoon! Hhhhmmm, so what is the purpose of their coming here then? Looking for apostate literature?? Did the elders send them? Going through personal property???? The home locks but the garage/barn does not and they know the trick of getting in the house from when grandma and grandpa were living here.
I have been just seething !
It is hard to sit here and keep a civil tonue in my head.

i know this might sound abit "paranoid" but as i mentioned on other posts before i am a "heavy" person who is losing weight.
so far i have lost 65 pounds and i am still losing through a "strict"diet and exercise.
i was at a restaurant the other day and there were 4 "thin" people sitting at a table across from a "very heavy overweight" man.
I know exactly what I would have done without a moments hesitation.
I'd have gotten up and gone to find the manager/owner and reported the problem. That man should not have had to go through that. See why I live in the woods? People are so darned hurtful. ugghh

ok i don't bother much about celebrities and all this craziness about couples getting together and breaking up is more than likely media blown out of proportion but..... tom cruise and katie holmes .... something here really doesn't feel right to me.. we have older man vs young woman.
clearly a man who has no problem making a spectacle of himself - jumping on the furniture on international tv - she seemed rather shy and subdued.
a man who has no problem voicing his religious beliefs as if he and he alone has the ultimate truth of matters - she not so experienced so follows his beliefs (according to the media).

At first glance they always appear to appear to be standing side by side by look carefully.
He is always standing just in front of her. In the beginning she used to look up at him lovingly and now she is more apt to keep her eyes lowered.
Also, he always, always has his hands firmly on her body somewhere in a very possessive, controlling way. Even when he holds her hand it just doesn't feel right to me.
submission, subjection and servitude are written all over her.
This is probably just a lie but I heard that just before the baby was born he tried to get her to sign over the childs' custody to him and him alone. hhmmm.
I was surprised that grammy and grandpa were not notified sooner but this is just my own little peeve.

ok i'm not at all surprised to not be invited to my sisters engagement party as she is a jw and i'm df.
i was telling my girlfriend about it and she was shocked that as a family member i wouldn't be involved.
she already knows that as far as a wedding goes i'll probably be invited to the ceremony but not reception and that i'll be shunned at the kingdom hall, but i think the fact that the engagement is at my parents place she was so surprised that someone is so cut off from family things when in an unapproved status as per the wts.. like most people who have never been a witness, they don't realise how mental the whole thing is until they witness it.
Put on your own party and have your friend join you. Make it as fancy as you want and have some catering!!!
It will be a million times better than than the one that those old stuffed crows are having!

just spoke with the mayor of our town about a notice in this mornings paper, re the jws are applying to build a hall in our community,,,,,,,,, would anyone care to comment on what they would say at this meeting?
i mentioned to him that it is a cult and i do not want it in our town.
he admitted he didnt know much about the jws and their beliefs and i told him about the abuse and actions being handled by the elders and not the police and also the non government views.
I agree with the concept of the effect on the community as a whole, taxes, parking, traffic flow, etc. Also, the time the Thursday pm meetings end is potentially bothersome for families with small chiildren.
Do the homeowners have guests that park on the street? How would the sudden influx of cars on the street effect the odds of a possible accident.

you can't influence me on that.. but i noticed that i was influenced by the jw's.

i have three cherry trees in my yard and the birds eat every cherry before it's fully ripe.
my brother-in-law has the same type of cherry trees in his yard and the birds don't bother his at all.
they are just about 250 feet from mine.
Plant one or 2 mulberry trees somewhere away from these cherries and the birds will abandon every berry type to eat mulberries.
Also if you use netting make certain that you hold them up with 2 or 3 poles that are taller than the trees as that way the netting will not touch the berries or foliage. If it touches then the birds can still get it very easily but unfortunately using this type of protection you have to watch for birds getting snagged and either starving, breaking a wing, or becoming a tasty morsel to a passing cat.
